Have you sailed in a Fjord lately?

Hi Everyone!
So after 2.5 hours I gave up on the laundry being dry last night and packed wet clothes. I stayed up way too late given how early I had to get up to catch my train. Today starts my two days of Norway in a nutshell, a train trip across Norway that highlights some of the beautiful scenery and natural features that are found in Norway.  My first train ride is about 5 hours long, and while the first four aren't too scenic, the last hour has some interesting scenery.

Also, I'm not positive, but I really think one of the contestants from the Great British Baking show was on my train, two seats over.

The second train trip is along the historic Flam railway, the trains are kind of historic looking, and the scenery is much better.

You spend a good amount of time going through tunnels, but then you come upon waterfalls like this.

The final leg of my journey for the day is a cruise through Sognefjord, the most scenic fjord in Norway.  I took tons of photos. Even though it was cold on the deck outside, I managed to stay outside for almost all of the 2 hour cruise. Everything was just too beautiful to try and photograph from inside the ferry.

The ferry arrives in Gudvangen, and while most people continue on with the next part of Norway in a nutshell, I decided to stay in Gudvangen, at a super fun Viking themed hotel.  Harold is so excited because they have a viking ship that is just his size,

and he can see the Viking village we will be visiting tomorrow from our door.

Harold is so excited to sleep in the Viking bed that he's been running around in his pajamas as soon as we came back from dinner.

I'm excited to get to sleep in a little tomorrow!  I'll leave you with a few more photos of the fjord from Gudvangen.
