Hi Everyone!
Today is my last day in Seattle, and it's been a busy one! I rode the monorail out to MoPOP-the Museum of Popular Culture. The building is like a piece of contemporary art.
The museum tends to focus on pop music. Harold really enjoyed this display of electric guitars.
I had fun learning to play the bass guitar and the drums in the recording studio exhibit, and learning about the history of Nirvana, which was based in Seattle. The big exhibit at the museum right now is a Marvel exhibit, which details the history of Marvel comics, and has props and costumes from the movies, including Thor, Ironman, and Captain America.
The lower level of the museum had a Sci-Fi exhibit showcasing props and costumes from Star Wars Dr. Who, Alien. There is also Fantasy exhibit which had props and costumes from Harry Potter, and Princess Bride.
From there I went to the Seattle Aquarium. Harold really enjoyed the diver, and watching all the fish. I think it's because he's missing Mr. Fish (in the aquarium) at home.
I really enjoyed the otters, and the lion fish-they're my favorites to watch, but the hardest to photograph.
From there I took a boat cruise around the harbor.
After the harbour tour, I took the advice of my friends and signed up for a Seattle Underground tour. Seattle would flood regularly, and after a massive fire in 1889, the city rebuilt itself with the intent of raising the street level to the second floor of every building. The first floor of every building was filled in, but there are some areas that have been excavated, and that is where the underground tour takes you. It was a fun tour, and I'm glad I had the time today to fit it in.
From there I went back to the wharf for some sunset photos. Seattle has been a fun city, and I would like to visit again one day.
