Makah museum, Cape Flattery, and a crazy drive to Port Angeles

Hi Everyone!

Today we drove out to Neah Bay.  On the way my friend saw these ridges in the beach, which are fossilized sections of the sea bed.

Our first stop was the Makah Cultural and Research Center, a Museum dedicated to preserving the history and culture of the Makah people. I loved the native artwork, the incredibly intricate woven baskets, and the life size walk-through replica of a Makah longhouse. You aren't allowed to take photos past the lobby of the museum, however the staff were rather charmed by Harold, and were totally OK with him taking selfies.

Then we headed out to Cape Flattery to hike to the very tip of the Olympic Peninsula.  The hike was longer than we expected, and full of gnarled tree branches, and wooden slats and stairs.

It was totally worth it though, because the view was incredible!

We had a two hour drive to Port Angeles, along the worst stretch of highway ever, it constantly twists and turns, so you can't drive faster than 30 miles an hour.  We were all a bit car sick once we got to Port Angeles, even Harold.  But he found something silly to cheer him up, behold...the Rocktopus:

We're having an early night tonight, we're all tired, and we have to get up really early to drive to the ferry station that will take us to Seattle.
