Hi Everyone!
Today we went to the Hoh rain forest, one of the largest rain forests in the US. The road to get to the rain forest is densely lined with trees that seem to lean in over the road, creating a tunnel like effect.
There are lots of large trees in the rain forest,
and there is a section called the hall of mosses, where every tree is draped with long fingers of moss.
Harold enjoyed wearing his raincoat in the rain forest. There wasn't any rain, but he didn't want to get dirty.
On our way out of the rain forest we saw a stream, and pulled over to take pictures. We had to climb over some foliage and take care not to fall in!
We spent the rest of the afternoon at Rialto beach, which has large sections of driftwood logs, rocky islands rising from the surf, and rocky sand.
I tried very hard to avoid the freezing water, but my friends made me get my feet wet!
We made dinner at the house tonight, and then my friend and I took a trip out to Ruby beach at sunset. We decided it was a good thing the kids had stayed behind, because the terrain would have been impossible for them to cross. While the sunset wasn't as spectacular as we were hoping, the beach was still beautiful. My friend took the wonderful photo of Harold.
