Harold in Greece

Hi Everyone,
I'm in Greece! Today I flew to Athens. Harold got to see the cockpit and the pilots before we took off.

Athens is hot, but somehow more tolerable than Italy. I broke down and bought sandals. My feet can't handle socks for much longer.

Today I went to the National Archeological Museum of Athens.

The area in front of the museum must be a dog park, because I saw several dogs there. Following the advice from one of the girls I went to dinner with last night, I downloaded the Rick Steves App, which has audio tours you can follow for popular museums and attractions all throughout Europe. Using the app I had a thorough guided tour of the museum, which showcases the history of Greek art, from ancient to classic.

There are some fascinating and detailed bronze sculptures.

After that I spent the evening at the only laundromat in Athens open past 9pm. Thank goodness it's really close to a metro station. There's a sports bar next door where you can hang out, but I spent the time writing this post while watching the dryer. It's a good thing I have a cute helper, even if he has trouble reaching the dryer by himself.
