Hi everyone!
Today I went and saw Cleopatra's Needle, an obelisk brought over from Egypt, and guarded by two sphinx statues.
Then I went to the Banquet House, the only portion of Whitehall palace to survive a fire in the 1680's. It has a magnificent ceiling painted by Rubens, and is also the site of the beheading of King Charles I.
This afternoon I went to Kensington palace. The palace was Queen Victoria's favorite, so a large portion of the palace shows her influence. The palace was also occupied by the King George II and Queen Caroline, and reflects their tastes as well.
I have an early flight out of Heathrow airport tomorrow morning, so I'm keeping this short. Looking forward to seeing everyone when I get back.
