Holocaust museum, delicious food, and Segways

Hi Everyone!
Today we went to the Holocaust museum.

When I visited the museum in 1997, I felt vast sorrow for the atrocities committed against innocent human beings.  This time I was disturbed by how little was done to help Jewish refugees who were seeking to escape Germany and Poland. So many countries, including our own, turned away so many people, partly because they didn't want them, and in our case, because of our immigration policies at that time.

We had an amazing dinner at a restaurant called Founding Farmers.  If you ever visit DC, you must eat there.
This evening we went on a Segway tour. My sister and I were a little worried about Mom and Dad riding the segway (and then falling off the segway and breaking something) but they caught on quickly, and are now segway pros!

It was a great way to see several sights around DC,

including the Vietnam memorial. I really wanted Dad to see it since he was an Army drill sergeant during the Vietnam war.  It was really dark, and I wasn't sure if any of my photos would turn out, but my tripod saved the day yet again. It has been worth hauling it around in my giant purse!
