A Tudor palace and a famous detective

Hi everyone!
Today I took the train out to Hampton Court, the palace of Henry VIII.

I was really excited to see the great hall. The ceiling is very impressive.

While I really enjoyed seeing the great hall and the royal apartments where Henry VIII lived, the part I enjoyed the most were the Tudor kitchens. Food historians have worked hard to explain just how 600 people could be fed at once in the Tudor court. They are currently testing the roasting fireplace and spits that would have been used 500 years ago.

I had to alter my plans a little. I was having too much fun at Hampton Court, and stayed longer than I should have. I took a later train back to London, and decided to go to the Sherlock Holmes museum, and see the musical instrument museum tomorrow when I would have more the to enjoy it.

The Sherlock Holmes museum is at 221B Baker street, and is a historical Victorian house. A little silly, but fun.

This evening I went on a Thames river cruise, and a nighttime bus tour around the city. It's not the greatest photo, but it is taken while on a moving bus.
